Amy was diagnosed with bone cancer aged 18 and given just a 20% chance of surviving the illness. The Paisley girl had to undergo very intensive chemotherapy and spent 18-months going through treatment. During this time she began to feel very isolated from her friends so she was delighted when Macmillan Cancer Support gave her a grant that she used to buy a laptop. The computer allowed her to keep in touch with friends via email and social networking sites and helped her cope with her illness.
